And has Citibank moved from swift to swiftUI yet?
Hahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahaha hahahaha I needed a laugh. We're doing a big push now for a custom in house build of Typescript more so than swift. Still mostly objc.
Lol a video with like 4k likes on my tiktok fyp came up and dropped this tidbit along with other “dirty laundry” for big tech co’s codebase. It said that most of Facebook for web was still built on php
Yep, can confirm both. Meta uses their own variant of php called ‘Hack.’ The auto-complete, linters/checkers, and just general deployment infra is so good in general, it’s not a big deal. Basically like writing quirky Java or C#. I was surprised when coming to Snap because mobile devs at Snap don’t write backend code, whereas at Facebook, almost everyone is full stack because it’s easy.
Citibank app is react
No way? I’ve interviewed multiple devs there and they never talked about react. Is that recent? My interviews were two years ago
Yeah recent, i was laid off and work at Citi now, its react for most of the app
