I am interviewing for an engineering manager position at Uber and I am interested to know if the culture has improved/changed. Maybe some light on current leadership (including HR) esp for Engg teams.
I'm curious about this as well. I'm interested in understanding how the market perception has impacted hiring (and retention) at Uber
No. Please stay away. Shithole here
Are you in Uber?
Please keep the bro culture going.. bro's rock, bro's rule, bro's innovate
Honestly yes I feel that it has. I've seen the company since 2015 and the differences are certainly noticeable. Also Im definitely not trying to undermine any issues that people surfaced, but I've worked entirely in product teams and personally did not witness any bigotry or sexism. Again, I realize that others did express concerns so I don't want to ignore those but I really think that people think the problems were more pervasive than they were. We have a culture of letting teams run themselves and it worked really well and got us as far as we are now but wasn't checked when it should've been and that's on us. I personally feel as though alot has been done and is being done to fix this
Good to know. Thanks for sharing.
Didnt they revamp their Leadership and expand HR?
I am a bro. Just no longer a douche, or at least working on it.
Isn't douche a subset of bro, you like decaffeinated coffee ?
Would really like to know also.
