i have been very busy all these years with work and being a mom . i have an active 4 year old who keeps me busy after work, and has been very difficult to find my ‘me’ time. My new job has a good vacation policy( there is no policy) which i want to ulitize before. Moms here - Have you guys been on any solo trip without kids? Any recommendations on good travel site?
Not a mom, but Europe is a difficult place to travel alone. Getting around is easy enough, but much of what it has to offer is easier to enjoy with a travel partner. I made it work in college when I was okay meeting new people at youth hostels and hanging out with them, but I don’t think I’d enjoy it as much by myself anymore. Best to go with a friend.
I traveled all of western europe by myself. Didn't bring a phone or laptop either. Literally the best 7 weeks of my life.
How did you plan your trip?

Done a lot of solo travel all around the world, mainly in Europe (I'm from Europe myself). I have travelled a lot in eastern Europe and Balkans in addition to "usual suspects" like UK, Italy etc. I have always found less traditional travel destinations more interesting. Travelling solo in European is heaps of fun and it's safe. You don't need anyone to travel with as long as a you are someone who otherwise is also able to enjoy your own company too.
Forgot to add that I'm a woman
I did solo travel Barcelona and Lisbon last winter, best travel ever. Left my kid with my aunt's family in Norway for a week and did this. Planning to do another one this year also.
I just got my money stolen in the UK. Solo traveller here :(
Ouch! That is one thing I fear in solo trips
You can do most everything with cards. Done need to carry too much cash....
I've traveled alone quite a bit, and still enjoy it, every once in a while. Take basic precautions and don't stumble out of bars after midnight and you'll be fine.
