In SF, have a job interview down in Mountain View and the cost on Waze Carpool was estimated as less than my Uber/Lyft to current job in SF. How the fuck does someone without driver's license (NYC born & raised) commute without giving up hours of their life to public transpo.
Use Scoop instead.
What makes scoop better?
Cheaper, more reliable. Only available during commute hours though, and usually you have to book 6ish hours in advance
you need to be too much flexible. window in most cases is of 1 hour.
Just take the hyperloop.
How/who determines how much the rider contributes?
Website said it was set per mile. Like paying for gas.
It's 56 cents per mile so that you don't have to file taxes showing the income from it. 56 cents per mile is IRS limit for commute expenses.
waze works like crap now. what did you guys do to it @google
get a better book
Just do the bullet Caltrain to Mountain View.
Maybe you will get your drivers licence this year!
Waze carpool is cheaper than uber. It's basically matches riders going to and from work. You complete your profile/driving directions and waze will match you with riders going that direction.
Yes, I use it sometimes. It works pretty well in South Bay. The only issue is that drivers are not punctual, they tend to arrive either late or early. But it's cheap and if you are flexible with your time, it's a good and cheap alternate to Uber/Lyft.
Scale of 1-10, how creepy was it? Also a lady, so trying to make sure I don't get murdered.
Regular folks. Nothing creepy, same as lyft or uber. I would rate it 8.
