I had an interview for a QA role for a consulting company and it was clear that I was not cut out for the role. Honestly, I'm glad I don't have to stress about this one because I know there will be other interviews. But wow. I was definitely the captain going down with his ship and I could only own how bad it was. On to the next one!
I've been there. I took it as a learning experience and improved on it. 😅. I literally just told the interviewer "I don't know" multiple times. 😂
I started doing that just to save their time.
Good luck for your future interviews. It's ok as long as you keep learning!
Just remember how it felt if you ever find yourself on the other side of the desk.
Yeah, they were doing their best. I could see that.
Yeah I once had an interviewer who kept asking about a topic I knew nothing about. Every time I answered “I don’t know” he followed up with an even deeper question about the topic. This repeated for 45 minutes.
Sounds brutal. I love it.
You can use silence against the interviewer. Make it awkward for them, when they ask again or ask you to answer say "I already said I don't know"
Yea it’s a dissociative state - ur brain is trying to protect you from reality
Don’t you hate it when your interview is scheduled with like 4 people in one day and after the 2nd person, you know you’re not cut for the job but you still have to talk to two more people lol
At that point you can really be yourself since you have no fear that you'll blow it because you already have!
The thing about interviews is that they are not follow any logic. I had some very bad interviews and in two occasions to my surprise they offered me a job and in one case I accepted. Later I asked them about it and they said oh no you did well!!! I have been in more that I though I aced it and/ or they literally told me the job is mine. Then got a call that I even did not make the first cut.
I've had this experience too! Thought I totally bombed a different interview but was then extended an offer. What's up with that? And ones where I got along great with the interviewer, I don't make it to the next round.
Google. Interviewed without being anywhere closed to prepared, and got ripped. Rightly so.
What'd they say?
I once had one as an interviewer that went so bad I ended up cheering up a 30yr old crying about not landing any jobs :(
I just had a similar experience, and your post made me chuckle. Thanks
