Like most, I’ve applied to countless jobs and heard nothing back. Tried LinkedIn tactics. Resume versions. Created GitHub profile#healthcare #healthcare #healthcare with projects. I don’t have a Ph.D with 15 years experience in quantum genetics but have what I have. I am looking for data science/analytics in healthcare (dream career). A resume critique/review would be appreciated 🙏🏻
Having a background in nursing is a plus. You'll have domain knowledge which can be useful in a lot of projects. I think the major downside is that short of your MS, you don't show any experience in DS/analytics. Course work is very different than actual projects. I know this can be a challenge before landing your first job, but maybe do a passion project (there's lots of publicly available health care data) that you can point resume readers to. You have a lot of engineering experience, but other than showing evidence that you can think about technical problems, it's not really that relevant. I would recommend compressing or to shorter and maybe fewer bullet points.
this resume is tooo long with lots of bloat ware... cut it down / make it much cleaner bro remove the professional profile... remove super basic skill like vs code / excel ... remove the huge white space. Also, IMO i would only focus only on the past 5 jobs.. not the complete work history as interviewer literally takes 6 seconds to go through resume. for the last 5 jobs, I'd focus heavily on crafting the bullet points. remove the white space hogging description for each job. only bullet point. professional experience always on top
He got sad from Being isolated all day as an engineer. Nursing is easy job where u get to save lives and use 2 brain cells
What’s wrong with nursing? You get to interact with people everyday. In tech u sit isolated in a room for 50 years
The problem with nursing is not the people, in this case the patients. It’s the hospital administration that makes it unbearable. I would rather sit in front of a computer than deal with rude patients/hospital admin. I guess it’s a matter of pick your poison… Also: TC for any tech career >> nursing
I guess you’re not in California where the nurses have a strong union
