Hello everyone, I have been working as QA at Informatica for the last 5 years. However, QA has never been my true passion, and I accepted the offer at the time due to a visa issue. Now, I'm eager to switch to a developer position, but I'm unsure if I will get calls for developer roles if I apply. I need your help with the process. Should I write my current role as a developer and apply? Or should I write my resume as QA and apply? When I apply as QA, I'm not getting calls for developer roles. On the other hand, if I apply as a developer, I struggle to clear behavioral or hiring manager interviews, even though I perform well in technical rounds. I'm feeling confused and eager to leave this position as soon as possible, especially since the pay here is also very low. If you've successfully transitioned from QA to development or have any advice to share, I'd love to hear from you. Your support means a lot as I chase my dream. Thank you for being a source of inspiration!
I have transitioned from qa to dev. It was challenging but the route worked for me was apply as QA. Then within a year or so take some dev task in your new role and convince your manager to convert you. Based on your performance and communication they shouldn’t have a problem. Create a good relationship with manager and the team. That’s all.
What was your years of experience as QA when you did the move?

Op, what is going on with behavioral/hm interviews? How many such interviews you attended and what kind of questions you struggle to answer on these rounds?
