Help decide between Apple and Vmware offer
Apple: TC: 200K (ICT3) (base+RSU+bonus) Location: San Diego Vmware TC: 190K (MTS-2) (base+RSU+bonus) Location: Palo Alto Vmware team(ESXi VMkernel team), looks more interesting to me when compared to Apple's team. I really wanted to work on core kernel, but not sure if it is worth rejecting Apple's offer. Apple's role is more of an embedded software development with some kernel work as well. Should I join Apple or Vmware? Should I join VMware and try to switch later if I feel so? Is CIBG safe from layoffs at Vmware? I believe it is a core Org. Any insights are welcomed! It will be difficult to switch domains later. So I thought if I take VMware, maybe I can try for Apple a little later. If not for the role, I wouldn't even think twice about taking the Apple offer.
There is some uncertainty in VMware due to the acquisition. Dont join right now
VMware has the very clear and present risk that in 6 mos you might lose your job. Almost guaranteed.

San Diego is cheaper then Palo Alto. Apple is a mich more stable company. How is VM ware with refreshers?
