I have just received an Apple offer in the Siri AI/ML org. Title: Machine learning engineer Location: Cupertino, CA Base: $140k Signon: $35k Stock/RSU: $240k/4years TC: $200k + $35k(signon) Yoe: 1 Previous role: Machine learning engineer at a startup Education: Master's in CS from top 30 universities No competing offers. Recruiters said all the interviews were positive and the team is very excited about me. Wanted to get an opinion on these numbers here and learn about the bonus/refreshers I can expect for this role. Thank you in advance! #apple #appleict3 #appleoffer #applesalary
ICT3? RSUs seem pretty great for the level. Ask for more sign on and base.
Yes, I think it is ICT3. Sure, thanks!
Low ball
The guy is offer 210k at 1 yoe, how is it a low ball? Do you think everyone out of collage should be paid 300k?
Thanks! What do you think should be the range of TC?
A question for you: I am about to do my second interview for an AI/ML position with Apple. What should I expect?
It is very team dependent I believe. In my first interview, I had a general discussion of a few projects, some details about ML algorithms, Leetcode medium question (to solve and code), Leetcode hard question (general discussion). In my second interview, I had a deep discussion about my previous projects and particular details about the specific choices I made. There were some questions testing my knowledge about recent developments in the domain. Onsite involved a lot of scenario based questions where a general problem was defined and was asked to develop the approach to solve the problem. My suggestion - Leetcode medium + Clear knowledge of ML algorithms (loss functions, architecture design, regularization, etc), Be very clear about your projects (depends on the interviewer - understanding his experience will be helpful in predicting the questions he might ask or recent publications from the team can help you understand some research directions of the team)
@OP, you would suggest going hard on leetcode ?
Thank you everyone! I got a +10k raise in base. I tried pushing for more sign-on but recruiter didn't budge.
Congratulations! Good offer. But always as for more. Does not hurt to ask. I think you should ask for 50k sign on, 150k base and 300k in rsu.
Sure, thank you!
