Took this as my first internship because I thought I would get some good development experience in Python and R but man was I wrong. I'm from Canada but I'm willing to move to the states, would really appreciate any help or advice. It's NOT development, It's a financial advisory and all I am is a glorified double checker with really shitty quality code that client developers make. I'm working 80 hour weeks as an intern because my senior associates refuse to help me and my manager thinks It's good to work 80 hours because he's a workaholic but all the other interns work max 40 hours ???? It's not because they're much better than me, according to one of the senior associates they gave me the developer from the client that everyone hates dealing with. #engineering #software #swe #refer #refferals
Just finish it and don’t go back again.
What's so horrible about it. Please elaborate. Maybe you just aren't cut out for development?

Nah
Is this just a summer or longer than that? Consider changing teams if possible or just look for another position, no point sticking around at a place you hate
12 months .Yeah I'm looking everywhere for something for fall and just applying where I can
Well, you wanted real world experience lol not every job is great many suck. Welcome to the world. Next step, learn how to GTFO with class and style.
I remember a while ago Deloitte interns were always treated really well in the states to try to make them stay. Staff would always take them out for drinks, happy hours, socials, picnics, etc. Also many stories of interns hooking up at events like it was a frat party. They say the second best position at Deloitte after partner was an intern.
