Help me evaluate offers - Hardware Design Verification

I have an offer from Microsoft (TC 200k, L62) and expecting an offer from Facebook and Samsung soon. I feel MS offer is low for the band but heard the WLB is much better than Facebook or Samsung. What’s the wlb in Facebook like for the hardware teams in infrastructure? I have heard horror stories about FB WLB but is it true for HW roles as well? Career and financially what would you pick - MS Or FB? Currently TC 165k, 6.5 YOE

What is the breakdown of the 200k TC? FB and Samsung should be able to beat that TC quite easily. WLB wise Microsoft>FB>Samsung. With 6.5 YOE I would probably chose FB.

160k/100k(over 4)/10% bonus. The teams at Microsoft are working on hololens/Xbox etc. - established and successful products, while fb infra hardware seems to be a new team. What in your opinion gives FB an edge?

What is the sign on bonus? 40k?

Microsoft BlindUser& Jun 13, 2019

Are these all for bay area? MS can definitely beat that - my offer for L61 was slightly higher but much lower CoL (Colorado). FB can for sure beat that, I had an offer of around 230k TC for E4 w/2.75 YoE. If you can swing high E4 or even E5 expect around 250k+ at least Edit: I'm HW DV as well

Yes Bay Area. That’s good to know. I know it’s low ball - I am in the process of negotiating. I am hoping when I get numbers from fb/Samsung I can negotiate higher. Why did you pick msft over Facebook?

Your competing offers are going to help swing this offer way up.

WLB is not bad at all. Much better than Intel. The team is very new, so there is a lot of room for growth.

Ooh that’s great to know.

What does your offer look like from Facebook?

Intel 🍩 monster Jun 26, 2019

levels.fyi. About 80% of SWE. You need to take into account “Years at Company” when you are interpreting the numbers. Keep in mind that the numbers for people who had been there for a while includes stock appreciation. So you want to look at the TC for people who just join recently, or reverse calculate the earlier TC for those who had been there for a while. In general you will find that FB, Google, Apple and Nvidia’s offer are going to be within 10% of each other. Can’t comment on MS or Amazon, as I don’t intend to move.
