Hey all, I would like to get feedback on a possible move I am considering regarding going to the US. I have already informed my current manager but have not yet officially accepted the US offer. Background : Less than a year remaining for ILR. I don't see myself in the UK long term even after ILR and eventual goal is to retire in my home country. UK pros : - ILR + Citizenship - Good wlb UK cons : - Limit tech scope and growth potential. - low salary + high tax - low savings USA pros : - high salary + increased tech scope (growth potential) - low tax - high savings - exploring the US (like to travel a lot) USA cons : - visa issues - high chances of layoffs Since I already informed my current manager I am dreaded if it's too late now to rethink this as I might become an easy pip candidate. TC : ~140gbp. Offer : 250K USD. Edit : citizenship will take staying in UK atleast two more years #amazon #uk #usa
As a German, I found UK pretty horrible place
I didn't like it either other than the fact that it's easy route for someone to get UK PR
Best is look for an opportunity in India itself and move once
Any particular you are favouring India here? (Although eventually I might return to India after FIRE goal is reached)
Soon IT bubble going to burst eventually US tech sector will ( all the hyped up valuation will be busted), more jobs are moving to India than ever.
Good for us homie 😁
