LinkedIn Staff SWE, on my way to Sr staff in next 1 year or so TC: ~ 450k ( base + bonus + rsus ) Got following offers 1: Airbnb , base : 205, don't think rsus matter for pre ipo company 2: Atlassian SF office , base 210k, rsus 300k over 4 years 3: Salesforce , base 210k, rsus 250k over 4 years All 3 offers are in the capacity of engineering manager / team lead. There is immediate loss of $$ , but will gain manager role( tough to get it in current team) . Is this worth it assuming I really don't have extremely strong inclination on any side ( IC vs Manager )
I would stay at Linkedin. There are too many unknown variables at the three other companies (maybe except Salesforce), and if you’re on your way to senior staff which isn’t common at all, then you’ll be leaving a lot more money on the table than you might think
Never go for a pay cut, unless if the new one is extremely better (in your case they're really not).
Just stay at linkedin
Airbnb is a no brainer. Why is this even a question ??? Airbnb is the best company to work for in the valley at present
Serious statement? Or you joking?
I am not joining. If you look at Airbnb in the long term it has the maximum potential to grow. They are a solid business model
Wth would you leave now? You are already making significantly more than any of the offers(other than perhaps AirBnB), & you will make even more as Sr Staff. Stay. If you really want to be manager & can't in your current team, move internally to some other team that's more receptive.
This is the only advice you need.
Yeah, why is becoming a manager at LinkedIn not an option? You are already staff
Non of them seems worthy.
Stay. Did you try to negotiate?
Why wouldn’t you consider Airbnb RSUs? Airbnb is IPO-ing within a year, probably via direct listing, so the stock will be liquid soon

I wouldn't take a pay cut to be a manager. It's a much harder job.
But likely OP doesn’t have much experience of being a manager, so the company is taking a bet.
