I am Columbia alumni
I am a Technical Consultant for Accenture implementing a product that was used to be distributed as a Managed Package for Salesforce. Product was acquired by Salesforce and they are planning to introduce it as part of one of their industry-specific clouds. My work is less of a Consultant and more of actually designing and implementing (Architecture/SWE). Projects are done only with the largest CPG manufacturers worldwide and usually pretty large. Each project has a huge landscape with lots of integrations (usually SAP, AWS, Azure). My career path leads to growing out of the development work and into Architecture/Design for future regional rollouts. I feel extremely bored and as if I was wasting valuable time and have recently received interesting offers from Microsoft and Qualtrics, but didn't move ahead as I am worrying that my skills with the product will become more valuable once Salesforce releases their own version of it. Looking for other peoples opinions just to see if there are other POVs that may be interesting/useful for me to decide if I should stay or move into SWE for other standalone and less project-based products.
