Looking to get some opinions/perspective about the eng org at TripActions! I used search and got all kinds of answers on opposite ends that just confused me even more. At this point I'm just looking for honesty. If you're there and got shafted in any way, just tell me; no need to go off about how everything is negative and terrible. If you're a recruiter and told you need to go and offset all the negativity, also just tell me; no need to lie and say how everything is perfect and there's nothing wrong. It's so blatant to read through both versions of the BS; it's never all negative or all positive. Open to direct messages too if you don't want to post publicly. Thanks!
It’s a growing company so definitely you will have both good and bad. More important question would be how much can they grow from now given that they are already at 4b valuation and how much upside financially can one get by joining now.
This company is trash and i poured my free time into it and never took vacation and got nothing and less in return
I enjoy going to work every day and that's what matters to me. I heard they don't give out much equity to new hires though, if that's important to you
I like the product.
Terrible. CTO and VP are never to be seen only to criticize. Engineers are treated like slaves and have no say in architectural decisions.
Because you might suck at architectural design. and you are one of those few bad apples that are spreading false information about our org. I think Tim has been the best VP for us. We need that kind of knowledgeable and fearless leader.
It used to be just another startup company until Series C funding but since last year after series D, things have really been exciting. New Engineering leadership has been a boon for us. We could actually see an improvement in the overall culture . Yes you would find negative reviews on Blind or Glassdoor, but the fact is our Engineering org is still growing even with few bad apples. To be honest it also depends what team and Manager you are joining. SRE and DevOps still needs some good influential managers and Liquid isn't a place you would like to start your career with. I was asked recently to move to Liquid but the people over there are the worst. I don't want to call any names here, but if your managers are ex Uber-ites, go for it rest avoid Liquid team at any cost. DM me for the names of the managers that are worth working with.
But again what’s the upside do you expect from this point?
I think 10B is reasonable to say
As someone pointed out above, please try to avoid SRE and Liquid team. Rest its normal across other teams
Yeah tell us - because the team is shipping fast and is in very high spirit.
Who is in high spirit? Have you talked to liquid folks? It’s a mess. Liquid will fail miserably.
As someone on this team, this is complete bs
Perhaps you are the person in liquid everyone wants to avoid.
You find exactly same reviews - negative and positive about every single company, on blind.
