Hey blind curious to see the HFT target schools I found Cornell UIUC MIT Columbia CMU NYU Harvard. What am I missing? Thanks!
Best: MIT, Harvard, CMU, Stanford, Waterloo, OxBridge Good: Cal, Cornell, UIUC, Columbia, CalTech, UT, UMich, Princeton, Penn, GTech, UToronto Also good: Duke, Harvey Mudd, other ivys I didn't mention, Northwestern, UChicago workable but not as good as the above: most other top 50ish CS schools that have a well known name Just look at who Five Rings, DE Shaw and Jump hires and you'll have a good idea. Source: Was at a trading firm and have a bunch of friends who are in the industry and are from those schools. Please note "target schools" are NOT hard requirements to get an interview, it just helps if you happen to go to one. If you don't, your resume should at least be somewhat eye catching in other ways.
Forgot some of the larger public schools that are probably better than most of the ones on here (UIUC, UT, GTech, UMich) but otherwise this is a good list of niche schools. Those 4 have an especially strong presence in chicago firms, and Mich has pretty good placement into NYC firms too.
Every US-based Community College
In the UK maths from Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick, Imperial are the most frequent degrees I see.
