I'm a 3 years experienced frontend engineer but received offers for Senior Frontend developer (job description says 10+ years at Apple and 5+ years at Tesla). Where is a higher chance of PIP? #software #engineering #swe
Despite a popular believe Apple has a PIP process but I haven’t seen a single case in my 4 years here.
You'd suggest I take Apple?
Yes
Assuming pay is similar, Apple hands-down. WLB could be decent at Apple, but is very unlikely at Tesla.
Wait, which is unlikely at Tesla? PIP or WLB?
PIP and poor WLB are both more likely at Tesla.
Apple .. difficult to be PIPed.. too much work for managers. But make sure you keep your manager happy at all costs.
Even though I'm faking a 10 year experience as a 3 year experienced IRL?
Lying… figures why you were laid off
Would be insane to not take apple
Don't judge but my case is different. I'm faking my experience by 5 years - so not sure if I can be stable at this
Tesla I hear horrible things about, unless you live and breath tesla, so there’s that. I’d add a poll here
Oh, what terrible things lol? Added poll.
Just about wlb (or lack thereof) - it’s a company with a strong culture and mission I think they filter for people who are onboard with that. I know a couple of people there who love it but they live and breath it so not sure it’s a safe comparison
