US saw its highest number of new coronavirus cases in a day today @ 37.5k with over 50k dead in just a month while other countries seem to be getting some kind of handle over the situation. How bad is it going to get in US? The virus has single handedly exposed every single broken system here including absolutely incompetent leadership. I hope this jolt changes things for better in future. What do you think next few weeks will look like in US?
Not much different than now with maybe a slight dip. Unfortunately despite all the efforts of medical workers and those who actually care about the well being of others, you have those in America who could care less about protecting themselves and others. They're not patriots for protesting for their rights. They're promoting the harm of others under a thin veil of freedom and human rights. Humans have the right to not get sick die from stupidity. That's just my two cents.
Looking at the situation and how states are getting ready to open up, it may be like this for a while. For the last few days/weeks the testing capacity has been the same everyday, lower on weekends ofcourse and that is clearly reflected in the new case numbers everyday. Just by looking at this everyone was happy that we have lesser cases but that's not really the cases. No matter how much they deny it, we lack in testing, even more so because we did not ramp up fast enough in the very starting.
Probably from all the protests last week π
It only implies the amount of testing and the speed of getting said results is improving. These numbers you read are very subjective, you can interpret it anyway you like. Not until these tests are performed on every person in USA on a daily basis to get a true view of the country.
What do you expect with a leader advising you to inject disinfectants.
And he will say itβs fake news saying it when he actually said it on TV
Wonder which miracle treatment will be touted next.
Trumps target for deaths is 300 million , he will be hitting 299 million and declare win and say what a great job he did
Even though broken systems were exposed, we will mostly go back to how things were run earlier (maybe with minimal improvements).

Increase in number of new cases is usually a result of increase in testing, which is a good thing. You can see which states are behind in testing by comparing the number of cases to number of tests. Several states are still behind in testing (105k positive tests out of 206k tests conducted in New Jersey). Reported cases are always going to be worse than actual cases. In the states where testing is behind, assume that the difference is even greater. No one knows what will happen in the future.
Irrespective the numbers should be coming down as SIP has been in place for more than 4 weeks in most places.
^These are most likely new cases of people contracting it in the last 2 weeks which should have been way down if the restrictions were successful or even followed. Increased testing does not mean it is going to expose older numbers.
Nothing will change. Because America #1 always right, never wrong. And so the shitshow continues.
I really want to go back to my home country. US is the real third world country.
Me too but the sweet 300k TC says no
Rare time when a part of me is happy that I am not a US citizen.
