I don’t know how many Russians are here, but hi comrads. As we all know a lot of companies (such as nvidia) left Russia after recent events. The question is: what companies that are still there pay the most? I know people from Yandex and Sber, but they pay 🥜 unless you have crazy high level. I heard that Huawei paid not bad before the war started (~500k rub/m), don’t know about now though. Also knew some guys working for US companies (and almost US salary) directly as contractors, but it seems to be exceptionally rare case. Is it still possible if I’m not Linux creator? I think Wagner gives pretty good bonuses?
By the way Wagner made a hackathon about drones or something lol
And what happens if/when you receive a "PIP" from this said group? Will they let you quit with a severance?
Also why not ask this in telegram or Reddit or something? I don't think you'll find very many Russians here
No one in Russia reads reddit. Telegram is an option but it’s not anonymous and no serious people read public telegram chats and moreover nobody will share TC
Common dude, every 15th software engineer in the US is Russian. ;)

Why don’t you move to china? There are high paying software jobs in China and it is friendly to Russians.
Why move to China if China is going to own you anyway?
Russia has 13% income tax. Plus adjust to the cost of living. On the net basis it’s better than continental europe (excl faangs there), probably on a par with uk and the netherlands with ruling. Highest paying companies are Sber, Ozon, Avito, Tinkoff, VK (if you want to sell your soul) , and large banks. Yandex tilts to the lower end among the largest tech companies
Isn’t Yandex the Google of Russia? Why is it considered lower end?
And JetBrains (before the war)
My partner, who works for a US company with offices in the UK, has a coworker who is Russian and joined the company in the past year. Pay is good, he even bought a house so it sounds like he’s planning on staying there. They’re on a hiring freeze now but I’m sure there are similar opportunities out there. He was working for a major Russian company before but no idea the name.
Isn’t VK hiring?
