Hire fire tech vs hft
Used to feel tech is better for career. But 90% of the teams are crap. Hiring is random. And now even layoffs are random in tech. Hft doesn’t have the best wlb and are known to fire for poor performance. But it’s tech really any better ? Pip layoffs etc. #tech #hft

HFT wlb can be pretty reasonable, I'd say maybe 45 hrs/wk avg at my place which imo is fair given the comp
is this butt-in-seat time or actual working time? always hard to tell what ppl mean when they give h/wk worked...
Butt in seat time, though real working time isn't too far behind that... can't coast too easily but tbh you really don't want to since in my case that hurts PnL (and subsequently my bonus lol)
