I am hiring for a SWE @ Solo Global (www.solo.co). Title will be Software Engineer, Risk Tools. A bit about the role and what we're looking for: • Fintech experience is strongly preferred • At least 4-5 years of experience building APIs • Recent, robust professional experience with Python (personal projects don't count) • Working knowledge of Java, Javascript, and SQL is a plus • Experience building internal tools for teams such as biz ops, fin ops, analysts, etc (DevOps work still qualifies for this role, but you won't be building tools for other developers to use) The role's function is to build internal tools for our customers, as well as build tools that will increase the efficiency of our operations teams (either by building tools or work with other engineering teams to automate some solutions). Interview process: 1.) Recruiter phone screen to learn about the company & role - (20 mins) 2.) Tech Screen (45 mins) 3.) Python assessment you can do on your own time 4.) Company is at about 90 employees total and growing quickly. Laid back environment. Fully remote. #hiring #jobopening #softwareengineer #startup #fintech #devops #internaltools
I don’t have extensive experience in python. But otherwise good. Only worked on a project in python in early years. Recently python is only used in configuration setups. Primary coding language Java. Given the time to work on it offline, I think I can handle the assignment.
I like to think I tick off all the boxes, don't want to reveal too much but DM me for my specifics :)
Would you consider investment banking experience as fintech? Was building market risk systems at GS before my current role, which is fairly newish. 8 YOE
Will you count c# in lue of python experience?

Can you replace the take home requirement for another tech interview?
Always a possibility. We have done that before with candidates in other roles. Just depends on your background, seniority, things like that. I can probably convince the hiring manager.
