I have been interviewing for a few years now and I try from my side to vouch for the most deserving candidate. But sometimes it really upsets me when someone gets in, bcoz of luck. How do you mitigate this ? Ex-FAANG
Not much difference between late stage capitalism and communism. Itās all about connections, not much to do with merit
What exactly does this have to do with "late-stage" capitalism? Was early capitalism more meritocratic? (It wasn't)
Case in point: iteygcfe got hired with great connections and no merit, and also is 14 and thinks r/antiwork is really deep
How do you think you got in? Extraordinary intelligence? š your interviewers liked you and you got in, that's it.
For reals. My boy here is doing what's called "pulling the ladder"

Thomas Sowell said Tests are nit unfair. Life is unfair. Tests just measure the result. Well, nature's discrimination dwarfs human discrimination. Nature is more unfair than humans. What can we do
This is a very interesting comment. Thank you.
Thomas Sowell is a fucking moron
If you work with someone who is unqualified, 360 Or constructive feedback is really the only mechanism unless you are a people leader. Best to just focus on what you can control. We are all human and make mistakes. Iāve been fooled a few times in the interview process. Iāve also seen other great leaders make bad hire calls that I recommended against. Also really pushed to hire someone who never made it through because they had a bad interview with someone else. 45 minutes is such a short period of time to judge another person. Hiring process is imperfect. I imagine this is the same at any other company.
Hey itās me Iām the unqualified one
why are you guys allergic to designing a technical interview? Every role I have ever been hired for,, from Customer Service to now Data Analytics involved a technical interview during the interview to assess my capabilities within that environment. But y'all are desperate to remove it probably to satisfy hiring DEI candidates all the damn time. Needs to change ASAP
Many people donāt understand that luck is crucial to someoneās success. To achieve success you need at least two out of these three factors: the right time, the right place and the right people. You need luck in all of those.
Youāre quite right man
Yes, but you gotta play to win. Can't get lucky if you don't try
Define luck
That one hiring manager going to bat for you because he/she liked your bullshit in the interview.
Solution: learn to bullshit
Thumb rule:- life is unfair
Chill bro, even you will have few things you don't deserve. That doesn't mean you are special, it's life. Unfair for everyone in different ways. Ignore and Try again.
Will the talented work aswell
This man gets it.
Or woman!?
