How long did it take for you to go through the hiring process (from first contact to interview and then to offer)? For software eng positions. #epicgames
I’d say slow. Applied 2 years ago, received a recruiter interview after 40 days, learned from recruiter I wasn’t first option as original candidate flipped out. Two weeks later, I received an email that they found another candidate. Won’t be surprised if that hire left by now for whatever reason. :) but overall, I like the company and if you’re into gaming, keep at it.
Did you interview at all or did they find somebody before you could?
Just with recruiter, then they found someone else later on as original candidate did not decide to join
Took about 20 days from initial contact to signing an offer. I have heard of much slower timelines though.
Thanks for the data point! Did you apply or were you contacted by a recruiter?
I was contacted by a third party recruiter
4 months for my friend who’s there now. Lots of stops and starts.
Interesting, that's a huge amount of time. Do you know what happened?
I had an offer from them that I didn’t end up taking after almost 2 months of back and forth. I’ve heard of slower experiences, too. Their recruiters were good to work with, though, and they seem to have T2 pay within engineering and a much more game industry culture (I mean this in a good way).
Took me a month from recruiter email to signing.
A little over a month from applying online to starting offer negotiation. I think it varies pretty wildly depending on team and what their needs are.
About 2 months, I’d say 4-6 weeks is average.
New hire. First contacted in mid November and signed on recently. So a good two months.
How was the interview?
Good experience overall. Long process, many faces, at times exhausting. I’ve interviewed a lot over the last few months and this one stood out at one of the better ones.
Very long. Over a month between each stage of the process.
Things are really so bad in the job market?
What do you mean?
Not bad enough to consider ByteDance tho
