From Netflix’s website “we don’t set a holiday and vacation schedule so you can observe what’s important to you” Given Netflix/Roku’s lack of holidays, do folks need to take a day off on typical national holidays? #netflix #roku
I took 3 weeks off. Most on my team are taking the same. This is a company that gives you 6-12 months of paternal leave.
3 weeks including holidays? Sounds low. I'm at 29 days pto + 9 standard holidays + one "wellness day" per month this year.
I meant 3 weeks for the Christmas holidays.
To answer OP's question: yes you need to take the day off on national holidays. That means different things to different teams. On my team you just add an OOO event to the team's shared calendar (if you want).
I take 6 to 7 weeks off every year. Not counting one off holiday like independence day or labor day. I think that's normal. Nobody works in holidays, we just need to figure out who's oncall. Even on call isn't working, just carrying a laptop everywhere.
