Lasik cost
Doing some of my financial planning for the year and realizing that if AMZN holds $1400 my total comp will be close to 300k this year with the last of my signing bonus and my second and third stock vests. Anyone else in this situation and thinking it’s nuts?
👏👏👏
Years of experience?
10. Only an L6 though so it seems wild. What are L7s pulling in with the stock like this?
For L6, this is reasonable :)
Too bad! Next year wld b much less if 4 years are over this year!
Yeah, definitely thinking about that, but that comp will feel reasonable whereas this feels crazy.
Good for you. congrats..
Thank. The pessimistic side of me thinks there must be something wrong. I’m paid too much or we’re in a bubble.
it is good that you are thinking about it now itself.. do lot of savings dont spend much u never know..
Watch “The Big short” every 6 months
Right? Buy rolling LEAP puts and cash in when it all goes down.
Seems reasonable. If you’re putting in good work for that level then you earned it. Enjoy dude.
Thank you. I’m certainly working as hard as I ever have.
Great. Don’t think it’s crazy for a second that if you’re creating a ton of value you don’t deserve your share of it. Why should Bezos get all the value you create?
As someone starting later this year this just makes me sad
Why?
Because I’m getting $65k of the stock near it’s peak. So I don’t get the only benefit of working for Amazon.
MAGA
Getting your first $10k out of college - your first few paychecks - feels amazing. It's like OMG I'M SO RICH. When I got my first paycheck for this job my eyes bulged too. (I increased base by 65%) Congrats! It's always good to step back and appreciate how lucky you are.
You feel better now?
Not sure. Most of my life my Dad made about 30k a year as the single income for our family. Feels surreal to see 10x that.
Congrats! Same feeling when I hit 100k, even if in big city. Knowing my parents struggled for decades, and I think I passed their life savings in a few work years is surreal.
