A best friend of mine was in devastating car accident last year and passed two weeks ago. The gf refused to hand over her phone or laptop has been modifying the fb page to remove people over a period of time. Now, her gf has shut down both the FB and IG accounts without authorization to do so. The sister of my friend has the death certificate. She isn’t tech savvy so I submitted on her behalf. FB responded with some auto generated garbage. It’s entirely possible that the gf had legacy access to the account, but she won’t say otherwise. She won’t speak or contact anyone. I’m hoping for a connection that can help get this account back up, rolled back to a previous state and reviewed so that it can be memorialized as the family wants, before totally removed. I work at a tech company and have a few connections to Meta. The only solid connection fell through due to the stress of pending layoffs. Update: I hope to connect with someone at Meta, please do not provide suggestions of legal action or crowdfunding. #meta #instagram #facebook
Have the family (someone with legal standing) sue the girlfriend for access.
They don’t have the money to do this, I wish it was that easy.
Then collect funds though gofundme or the near circle, name and shame etc. Sounds similar to the movie " the cruel intentions ". Come up with a strategy
