What does Hoppers interview process look like for a mid level position? I found stuff on glassdoor but not sure if they're going to be about the same. Any types of questions that they like to ask more than others (graphs, strings, ood)? YOE: 2.5 TC: 175k #hopper
Why are you hopping to Hopper?
Ex hopper here, Would not recommend joining hopper if you have any other options. Have over a decade YOE and Hopper was by far the worst combination of TC/WLB/Personal Growth/PureChaos.
zjWD48 has been posting the comment above in every Hopper related thread for some reason, but most people have a positive experience. Turnover is low and personal growth opportunities are abundant. Great TC, base is very competitive and the stock upside is huge. Revenue has grown like crazy since 2019.
Stock upside is not huge with a 5bn valuation raised in the frenzy of 2021, beginning of 2022. This is probably 50% down by now and if you get a new offer now with Hopper they would give you options based on the 5bn valuation, which is ofc a joke.
yeap
Hi, how was the interview process ? Were you asked OOD questions ?
Seriously suggest you read this post, scathing reviews from employees. Check out this post! "WLB/Culture for MLE at Hopper? (Tech Industry)" https://us.teamblind.com/s/RctWbAGj

Did a phonescreen just for fun. They rejected me despite optimal solution and expertise in the team domain. The only thing I can think off that would cause a rejection was that I mentioned that Scala had several problems I had run into in the past, manager didn’t seem to happy about the comment. So I guess don’t talk bad about scala.
Glassdoor suggests they do brain drain interviews. Take homes and free work.
Screens are technical skill + culture fit so likely culture fit
