I interviewed at FB through referral for a few positions, I got to the final stages with 2 positions. Position 1: The recruiter told me I passed the interview but they ran out of head-counts, he said the team will probably reach out to me to extend an offer when they get new head-counts( but there is no guarantee). Position 2: This position was a joke and I really want to file a complaint on this recruiter. On the initial call with the recruiter, he never checked with me my salary expectations, it did occur to me that this position seemed a little bit junior through the job description. but I dont know how much fb pays their employees and if the recruiter reached out to me I assume he did his work and thinks that I am a good match for the position. -I did a phone interview and went onsite for the position after onsite, the recruiter said he received positive feedback and would like to move to the next stage of interview which is another video interview with hiring manager, so I did it, later the recruiter said he received a positive feedback from the hiring manager but unfortunately the position was filled. From there he said he has a position which is very similar and I can interview for just one round and they can make a decision. At this point he asked me what my salary expectation was, when I told him my expectation, he did not make any comment about it, later he scheduled another interview for me for another hiring manager from another team. I had a really good conversation with this hiring manager. I think I performed well in this interview. One week later, recruiter got back to me and said he received positive feedback but they cannot match my salary expectation, so he thinks I am not a good match for the position. so no offer Some side note about how unprofessional this recruiter is: 1.on our first initial call he was 20mins late to a 30min call, and he did not extend my call and said he had to go because he has another call coming up. so we only talked for 10 mins for the recruiter call. 2.He replies email extremely slow. I asked him something about the onsite interview, he did not respond for 2 days 3.After onsite interview, whenever he wants to give me update, he would call me without any notice. The people I talked to were all nice and professional, I really enjoyed meeting them, the process was just very frustrating. I think the second recruiter was disrespectful of my time. he should not start the interview process if I am not a good match. My questions are: 1.Did the first situation ever happen to anyone ? how likely it is to get an offer thats on the waitlist? 2.Should I file a complaint on the second recruiter? I think he is super unprofessional. Does fb has this source/outlet available?
‘File a complaint?’ <eye roll> 🙄
That reminds me, I saw one customer in Ross store, he wanted to call 911 as sales person refused to give him discount he was expecting.
Yes, exactly! Maybe dude should call 911 to file his complaint?
Faced the first one in NYC...I interviewed and didn't get a rejection or an offer, just a call from the recruiter a few days later saying that they have no headcount for E4 at the moment and that they'd reach out if it opened up.
Looks like there is a lot of situations like this at FB.. Did you get an offer? If not, how long has it been?
it's been about 2 months, haven't heard back
Is this for an engineering role
No, both roles are data science/analytics roles
Sadly, this is par for the course not only at FB but at most big tech company - Google, Amazon, etc. Recruiters are overworked.
It's definitely a headcount issue. Don't worry
Is it really? I'm in a same situation
Hey OP, I just had this happen to me two weeks ago (situation #1). Is that legitimately a headcount issue? Does this mean I just need to wait for a potential offer? Not sure how this works hence why I'm here.
What the hell is your salary expectation that even FB can’t match 😕
My salary expectation was definitely fair given my years of experience, the problem was the position was a junior level position, the recruiter did not do his job well
My fiance faced the first condition. But eventually they gave her an offer after 2 months when the HC was available. What level are they offering you and what is your YOE ?
