Housing in south SF

The housing scene is crazy in The Bay Area. I found it’s a little cheaper in south San Francisco than other areas like San Mateo/ red wood city . How is the area in terms of security and commute to MTV?

You have to be more specific than that. Safety and area can vary block by block at times.

Any place that’s cheaper is cheaper for a reason, either lack of access to transportation, crime or just being a dump, but you’ll find it’s more of the first two

Commute can be a pain if you cannot use the 280, but that’s a pain commuting to South Bay from anywhere south of SF during rush hour. Safety wise, everything is gentrifying. I am surprised to see the development in Bayshore and Even Hunters point. Search for crime maps, I think Trulia or Zillow provide those too. If it’s yellow or greenish, you are gold. Also the crimes that annoy are mostly car breakins.

Keep in mind It gets depressingly foggy out there, even when it’s sunny in central sf

I like the shipyard community.

Just live in MTV it has "bad neighborhoods" that are cheaper and not bad at all.
