Houzz just laid off 20% of employees, including those who they wanted to get rid for any other reason but could not, I believe the #severance averaged 6 weeks #layoff , horrible company horrible corrupt culture of cutting corners and doing the least possible
This is 100% false. Houzz did have a 10% lay-off as a result of COVID-19 and that’s it. Severance was based on tenure and health insurance is provided through July also support in finding their next role for impacted employees. Layoffs are awful and no one wants to do them, but this characterization is ridiculous.
Why is houzz still not announcing when offices will reopen? Every major tech company in the neighborhood has given a timeline and most saying through the end of the year. Our last email blast said through “at least the end of May” ... They expect employees to get on public transit this summer? Take a shared ride? Its just like announcing the office closure. Always behind, never progressive thinking out of this leadership.
Some of us don’t need the companies we work for to be our mothers. Why don’t you inquire with your manager? Houzz has offices in many locations and the email you reference is sent to all of them. Some will obviously be closed longer in accordance with local authorities. If you are so unhappy with everything you hear and think it is such a terrible place, maybe seek other positions at other companies. Many companies are still aggressively hiring.
I am in the Bay area and had previously considered Houzz. What's with the cutting of corners?
dont do it
Not sure what’s the “cutting corners” is referring to but this poster has no credibility - 20% layoffs is a blatant lie
How far is IPO? Have an offer and deciding on that
Source? They let go of 10% of employees days ago.
why do you care? ex-houzzer?
