I've recently moved to FB from Houzz. Today I learned that during the company meeting they have anounced about upcoming IPO in Q4 2021. Any thoughts on what would the company valuation?
Bomerang?
Q4 is like years away?
$1.5B .. no one cares about ideas from houz any more.
Right no one cares. Except 40 million monthly users. Looking at 48 million monthly on Groupon, it seems you need to change companies as well. Maybe find a company that her product is being used by 10 billion people just to make sure someone cares
Didn’t they have 30 million users in 2017? Doesn’t seem like they are growing much.
🤏🥜
I assume you have good knowledge of the company revenue? Please tell us
What’s revenue and growth looking like?
Pretty amazing growth the last 2 years, even w/ the hard comps
What is a hard comp?
How do you make any guesses about valuation without a) fundraising or b) revenue? Just a shot in the dark man. Last raise was at a $4B valuation and I’d be surprised if they are still worth that much. But I also have no idea what revenue looks like.
Home companies doing well. They seem always below the radar, possibly doing well
Sure. Home companies might be doing well. But it’s literally impossible to make any kind of realistic guess about Houzz valuation without a ballpark revenue number. And even then, it’s all up to what the market believes the company is worth.
I highly doubt they will IPO this year. I was privy to some info too at the company meeting and they did not share any details whatsoever on revenue, goals, etc. Doesn't sound like a company that is ready to IPO anytime soon.
So you work at Microsoft but attended the same meeting OP attended where leadership literally said “we are planning to IPO in Q4?” Right. They don’t need to share revenue details or goals to make an IPO announcement...
No, I didn't attend. I used to work at Houzz and still have friends that kept me informed given that I have some vested equity.
If they make an announcement public in TechCrunch etc instead of internal meetups, people may take it more serious. At this moment there are still high uncertainties.
Actually Houzz is doing pretty good recently. You will know more good news
