I recently received a Product Marketing Manager role at Amazon L5 role. I was told I would come In as a L6. I’m curious what the pay band is for this role as I’m looking to negotiate my offer. Currently my base is 155k and first year bonus 58k but I was looking for a total comp of 260k. I want to get my base to 200-210k. Is this reasonable and can I get what I’m looking for? Is there a template on how I should negotiate this?
“I recently received a Product Marketing Manager role at Amazon L5 role. I was told I would come In as a L6.” - please be concise if you want people to help you
L5 , non-tech $220k - this is a good offer
And not in Bay area or NYC. Thats awesome offer
Thanks for feed back!
Top or near top band offer, esp the base. $200k+ base for L5 is not possible. Even the highest paying roles ie. Applied scientists and SDEs don't make that much in base at L5. Tbh this is a very good offer for a product marketing role. Amazon will likely not budge even with competing offers.
Confused - did they uplevel you to an L6 or told you they would but offered at L5.
I was told by the recruiter that sourced me that I would be considered for an L6 but my offer was L5
So you were told the role was L6 but are being downleveled? Just tell the recruiter to get you an L6 offer with title and pay scale or beat it.
I was told I would come In as a L6? What does it mean ?
OP will have a rough time at Amazon writing like this.
Yup , good offer
Was recently told the base for an L5 PMM was capped 20k lower then the base in your offer so you’re already winning. What did they offer for equity? Having another offer to leverage could help, as could asking for more cash over whatever equity is being offered, but 200-210k for base may be a stretch for non-tech L5. That said, leave nothing on the table.
785 RSU was the equity piece over four years
