New grad TC at google and FB is like 150-170k at most (not counting signing bonus because that’s just a one time lump sum). How do you get to 250k+ in 2 years of working there? Bonuses I assume would be 10-15% max. Are you getting 100k more stocks every year or something?
They probably got promoted to the next level in two years. That’s about right for Amazon SDE 2 in the Bay Area. Ours is a bit lower though.
I see people hopping companies and getting offers as senior swe even after only 2 yoe
Are they like top 0.1% engineers or are companies just that desperate?
They get offers at FAANG for senior so maybe the pool of people I know is skewed. But then again it's probably the same pool of people that would post about their TC on blind as their TC is unusually high for yoe
It's pretty easy and, honestly, expected to get promoted to L4 after 2 years. that's when you hit 250k tc
Since tech stocks have rallied in 2017-2018, the RSUs went up
jump ship and get solid L4 offer
Do at least 6 internships and kick ass during them. YOE: less than 2 full time TC: 340k
Everyone on blind is Genius except the one who is looking at the app.
2.5 yoe. TC 320K. You just need to be good.
Have a feeling people calculate it differently. Did some of you above really have 250k and 320k incomes in your w2 last year or this year?
