I’m over here working a full-stack position busting my ass to understand what’s going on for 50k CAD after taxes. With 3+ years of experience #software #engineering
CAD is why
>CAD There's ur problem
400k up bro . Time to work for us company .
I feel your pain! They pay so much more in the US 🥲
Dude, not everyone is making 200k+. Blind self-selects for top-tier SWEs. There are only few companies paying that much. Now, there are exceptions of course. I just graduated college and I make 200k straight out of school but 99% of software engineers (even experienced ones) don’t come close to that. Getting into those few companies is super-competitive as well. Literally, everyone and their grandmother is trying to switch into tech and I can’t even imagine the over-saturation that is headed our way. Everyone (bimbos, influencers, English majors, athletes, EVERYONE) is trying to get into tech. Just look at how everyone who didn’t even study CS is a genius in Machine Learning, AI, Big Data…….buzzwords being thrown around everywhere. I digressed but yeah, only like 2% of Software Engineers are making 200k. 70k is more like it so you’re pretty close.
Pretending to care about amazon leadership principles
There are a lot of shit jobs out there. Go work for a big tech company that pays big money. Look at levels.fyi and interview at those companies.
Look for remote US work. I went from ~80k CAD to 135k USD (170k CAD) this year
Yeah come to US. Toronto/Ottawa is the best in Canada and it’s still peanuts compared to states. Get a TN visa easy peasy
Move to the US
