How bad is it to share banking information?

For example, Recently I have been getting calls from startups and research centers to do survey/demo and learn about them or provide them insights. If they give paypal rewards, I agree. If they only do bank transfer - i deny These can sometimes go upto $100 and I have got some of them which are through paypal. But does anyone here gets involved in such activities? Have some self respect

I did a 1 hour survey for $400 once. I felt pretty self respected tbh.

I got a one hour "survey" and she charged me $100. I felt sort of respected.

What information do they need for bank transfer? What method are they using? I’d be reluctant to give out account/routing number, but otoh that’s how, like, all wire/ach transfers work so it’s probably fine.

Lol that wasn’t the answer you were supposed to type.

Don’t share bank detail. And ignore the hate, any money with minimal effort is good as long as you’re not breaking the law. Stick to PayPal

Sharing banking info is totally fine. Please post it here as well.

What are you worried about? Bank acct # and routing info is basically public information. They’re on the checks that you give to people. All you can do with that info is send money to that account, not transfer money out of the account.

Routing # is likely public info, but your account number isn't. Do you think the last four digits of your SSN in public as well?

I have but usually they offer a prepaid card or something. Definitely wouldn't have banking info to those folks. Seems wrong to me.
