For an L4? Can you get fired just out the blue? Or do you have ample warning to improve? How’s the WLB as a result? I see Netflix has good WLB but if you can piped or fired anytime then how could the WLB be good?
Pretty good job security for L4s at Netflix. L5 & above carry a lot more risk You’ll be provided feedback on your performance in real time if something feels amiss. WLB is team dependent as always but I find it to be generally nice once you settle in and get to know the systems. There’s no PIP. The usual duration of PIP is paid out as severance if the performance is no good. But I haven’t heard a case where someone was terminated for performance reasons without a warning. The higher risk is from the project you’re working on getting deprioritized and thus there may not be room for your skills at N. If good WLB means coasting with 10-20 hrs/wk for you then yeah probably N isn’t the place you’re looking for. The usual 6-8 hrs/day is good WLB imho.
If you haven’t already, search for “Netflix employee handbook” on the Googles.
I was told that you get plenty of warning if you're not passing the keeper test. It probably depends on the manager in reality I imagine
l4 you have nothing to worry about

1. Yes can get fired no warning 2. No ample warning 3. WLB depends on you. If you suck it will be bad Tldr, just get good to get not fired. Its that simple.
Whenever people comment this I lol
