The only people who would know that are too high up the ladder to be posting on Blind
Can't wait for them to go broke. That site is a cancer on society
Not even close. We’re not profitable but we’re not far off. And now that third party apps are gone we’re saving $20m+ a year.
yeah the big subs closing indefinitively is gonna help as well reddit needs to crash and burn
Those apps did not cost us $20 million a year this comment doesn’t even make sense
Well, its a small private company. Must be close to CFBE, else recent layoffs would have been deeper.
Fuck /u/spez
If you’re at fidelity shouldn’t you know
Thanks for your interest in Reddit! The team has reviewed your application for the Senior Software Engineer role, and after carefully considering your background and qualifications we have decided not to move forward in the process at this time. We are flattered by the huge number of applications we receive from exceptional candidates and while exciting, this also makes the hiring process that much more challenging. Thanks again for your interest in Reddit and we wish you the best of luck in your search. Sincerely, The Reddit Team
So much fluff for a rejection. I wish the email subject would just be "Company_Name - Rejected" .
Company is close to break even and a major revenue milestone. the 3rd party app closures will eventually help reduce cost and help the platform. That said this PR disaster is not per plan I think.
Hopefully they go out of business. Bunch of pedo sympathizers.
The CEO mentioned they are burning through cash and Blinders have mentioned they've had offers rescinded due to a hiring freeze, and Reddit recently laid off some of their staff. Anyone know what the situation is like at Reddit right now?
We aren’t burning through cash. Our CFO is competent
Those moves don't mean they are losing money, it means they want to be more profitable on paper for an eventual IPO. These are 100% board/investor short-term moves, that have nothing to do with the longevity of the company, it is all about maximizing their investments. The company I work at now is doing the exact same thing in nearly the same laughably bad manner.
