Currently working as a contractor (6 months). It was never specified to me that it was a contract to hire. The particular product I’m working on comes out well after my contract expires, and I personally don’t see them looking for someone new right when crunch time rolls around. What’s the chance that they extend my contract or hire me perm? Should I start looking for a perm job 2-3 months from my contracts end? I know that it’s up to the company etc, but what do you think? Assume that I am good at my job, work well with others, and everyone seems to like me. For the record I like working at Fitbit. They could pay a little better, but I am a contractor...so that’s probably why. I just want to be ready if they don’t hire me perm. I want to see if anyone knows what I should expect, or give me any guesses.
Depends on what engineering org you’re in at Fitbit. If you’re working on the project I think you’re working on, I’m pretty sure they will keep you on all the way to release. I wouldn’t worry about it unless you really feel like you’re not meeting your managers expectations.

Did you have the dtr talk w/ your manager? Every situation is different.
My actual boss is very rarely around I have a pseudo boss of sorts that gives me tasks etc but I don’t think she’s knows anything about my employment or anything. I think I’ll try and setup a time to discuss with my boss towards the end of October
