Snap was a top paying option for SWEs and now it might be a dud (down 75%) which is horrible news for everyone who's a SWE. We just lost another good option. At this rate, there will be no top paying tech companies left to join. Average Snap SWE made around 600K (prior to the stock drop) but apparently that was not enough to prevent this monumental crash? I thought the point of paying Snap SWEs so well was so that they could be motivated to build great features that would generate billions in revenue? Why did this not happen and prevent the earnings miss? Snap SWEs why couldn't you prevent this disaster from happening? Can anyone explain? TC: 250K #snap #snapchat
Leet Code champions cannot prevent this company! Companies should change their hiring practice.
Imagine mad cuz bad.
Is it clear that engineering failures are to blame?
Leet coders are need to be blamed.
Why?
They get put options along with RSUs to hedge against the volatility
The biggest bubble in past few years is you give so much money to LC monkey. Start to adjust your mind set.
They had to pay with these inflated rsu grants because most people knew it was over inflated.
When one day we look back, we will name this bubble: SWE thinks themselves so valuable bubble
Nobody uses it
Are they still hiring? Should try to get in when the stock is down
Hold up what correlation does RSU grants have with future company company performance? Past performance yes Future performance is all management m8. Engineers don't sell products
Do great features necessarily tie up with the stock market?
Great features?
