Unreal how failed liberal policies have transformed a once beautiful city into an utter shithole. -City police fail to enforce "petty" crimes such as defecation/urination in public, homeless tents, harassing people. -Vast majority of homeless struggle with mental illness and/or drug addiction and refuse to receive treatment even when offered. They prefer being out on the streets. -NIMBY regulations and rent control artificially limit the supply of market price housing, driving up the rent. -California state law prevents prosecution of retail property theft if the stolen value is below $950. -Wealthy SF residents are forced to pay for private security and patrol since the city refuses to do its job. Disturbing videos below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJcWFkRiKIU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-bCiRNNfhc
But NIMBY many times is conservative also. And also the problem is there for shops also https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jan/09/san-francisco-gentrification-second-wave?fbclid=IwAR3gLG2F81BaJbfV6SaD1kKSH0KjwZTdHceAtuOiAYU0OWQCOsXt3MpakXE who close down
Whenever people quote FOX News. 🤚 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol. Umm, no. Good try tho. Go back to fake postings on Facebook. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is the same as someone posting from CNN. Don't be a sheep, wait...you work for Facebook. Enough said. Idiot.
There are many more sources to prove liberal policies trash cities. https://cmpld.com/lists/44
Mississippi and Alabama are not run that well and WV has opioid junkies running amok. Homelessness though is a subject which requires more housing
Those states have always been poor due to fundamental structural issues that transcend politics. SF (and Seattle and LA as well) used to be very nice cities; their deterioration took place within the past 10-15 years. One cannot help but place much of the blame on bad policy.
Or growth of big tech and escalating cost :). sF was a leftist town before too
And those cities were run by conservatives before? How did they become beautiful?
Yeah but the point was that SF used to be much more liberal 20+ years ago. So... it’s hard to blame things on liberal policies since liberal city gov has been constant in SF since the 1930s.
The issue is today's liberals are not yesterday's liberals. By the true definition of liberal I'd consider myself one. But today's liberals and the democrat party as a whole have went off the rails. Today's liberals call yesterday's liberals nazis.
Haha public defecation/urination should be allowed because that’s individual freedom. Especially when there is no public restrooms
You take a very ahistorical view San Francisco has cycles and has had similar issues before. Fox News loves to run these envy pieces on San Francisco. The truth is, the market has spoken real estate prices are what they are, because people are willing to pay to live in SF. Unlike the shithole small towns that sent their mentally ill to SF in the first place.
Being someone who has spoke with MANY homeless. They migrate to the cities that give them the most free shit. Want to get rid of homeless in any city. Do away with all programs that don't force them to work for the goods and services they receive.
Whataworld just said to make the homeless into slave labor. LOL
Dude. It’s a 7 x 7 mile piece of rock surrounded 3 sides by water and packed to the brim with multi billion dollar industries and high paying jobs and many many more bottom feeder service level jobs. What the hell kind of utopia were you expecting? It’s a boiler room to showcase the two extremes of humanity. Capitalism at its extreme in its current transitional phase. SF was far more charming and cool before big tech moved in and created such a divide between the have and have nots. It’s just a fact. I’m not blaming it. But it is what is is.
Density? This is SF. It’s the most dense zip codes in California. The whole city is dense. How much more dense do you want it? You do realize the level of ass pain that already exists just traveling through the city right? How about multiply it by 2x? The city probably couldn’t handle the sewage capacity of denser housing. It’s a lot more complicated than approving developer permits you know... And unless over half of the newly developed high density housing was mandated as low income subsidized housing, there zero chance increases supply will even remotely catch up with demand to keep housing affordable. And when you have techies earning 350k, the market will tilt to demand of the ready willing and able buyers. And that means luxury housing....not gulags. Tech is what changed. We’re seeing the impacts of this change. And of course all the mentally ill bums being bussed in from all over the country because other cities and towns don’t want to deal with them. That’s where most of the crazy poopers are coming from.
Tech is not to be blamed, it's the greed of those already entrenched in housing market are to be blamed.
Exactly busloads are shipped from Texas among other places and also weather is milder here to be outside.
Agree that small towns and other cities are sending their mentally ill to SF
This is happening 💯. San Diego is suing some towns and religious charities who are bussing in these people to their city. Why do you think the homeless population in LA exploded right after voters approved billions in bonds to help homelessness. Boom....one way bus tickets of mentally ill bums and undesirables from cities and towns all over America. It’s not like all of a sudden thousands of people up suddenly became homeless. I’d have more respect for the righties that argued this would happen, but they’ve changed their narrative to now say it’s all home grown bums and crazies from our liberal policies.
http://hsh.sfgov.org/wp-content/uploads/FINAL-DRAFT-PIT-Report-2019-San-Francisco.pdf PLACE OF RESIDENCE Seventy percent (70%) of respondents reported living in San Francisco at the time they most recently became homeless. Of those, over half (55%) reported living in San Francisco for 10 or more years. Six percent (6%) reported living in San Francisco for less than one year. In 2017, 43% had lived in San Francisco for 10 or more years and 15% had lived in the city for less than a year. Eight percent (8%) of respondents reported living out of state at the time they became homeless. Twentytwo percent (22%) reported living in another county within California. The California counties in which respondents reported living at the time they most recently became homeless included Alameda County (8%), San Mateo (2%), Marin (2%), Contra Costa (1%), and Santa Clara (1%)
I am a liberal in a lot of aspects and dont agree with a lot of conservative policy but in this case I totally blame liberal policies for destroying the city. We are giving too much leeway to petty crimes and misbehavior and not forcing people personally accountable. You are breaking into cars that must be because of wealth inequality, so its not your fault, wtf? Everything is the mistake of straight, white, male guys you are doing heroin its because they oppress you, wtf again?? We need a Rudy Guilani to save the city but its never going to happen.
With level of unstanding of how fucked up the city, you're still liberal?
The same Rudy Giuliani type that has shady Ukrainian connections and racist policing policies? That isn’t going to magically fix the problem but I agree some of the Cali laws out there are making liberals look bad.
