He was at Microsoft for several years followed by very short stints at Meta (2013-2016), Snap (2016-2017) and Twitter (2017-2019). Now he's a crypto GP at a16z. I assumed he is part of the same IIT crowd with Pichai and had connections from there but looks like he studied IT at a school called SRM College, Anna University. His career trajectory is very impressive for someone that did a lot of job hopping, I'd love to know how he did it and get some tips for myself as a fellow Indian in the US.
How do you know he was fired?
I was at Twitter before and have friends who worked there.
That's surprising to me. Any idea why?
Nadella isn’t from IIT and he’s arguably one of the top CEOs out there
Neither was Adobe's CEO, I guess it's not that important.
Why don't you ask him? He is a friendly guy.
For real tho. He will answer you no doubt.
What gibberish is this? Care to Translate?
The guy hints that he went up because he’s Brahmin in Tamil.
Also he seems very less knowledgeable and professional than most execs
He just kissed ass and got lucky, studied in srm in late 90s is akin to 150+ ranked universities in US and poor engineering background.
Who cares if he studied in SRM or in chuttu college. I saw some of his videos in his channel. He atleast seems to be knowing what he is talking about.
His podcast good times show is nice. He’s a legit guy.
I like it. Sometimes I think he speaks too much and should let the guest speak more.
Yup! He seems to talks more than his guests. His wife is more balanced, this guy keeps yapping
Many successful people have the knack of failing up. He has a podcast with his wife, which suggests to me he is enormously confident, has good knowledge of hot technologies, good speaking skills and great networker. IMHO these aren't easy skills and unfortunately not skills we learn in Indian education system..
Networking, negotiation should be taught in schools.
