😂 Got lost even with Google map
They drove with attention and common direction sense.
Fellow GenX spotted?
Same, but I admit that it was much harder!
Used to print out directions from Mapquest.
Omg yes. I have hilarious memories of my father missing turns and getting frustrated because we had to re read the printouts lmao
This. We prepped ahead of time. Worst case is aaa map on the seat pocket on the side.
Mapquest!
And I also got physical maps from aaa before that!
I still have a stack of AAA maps I need to recycle.
You look up how to drive to your destination ahead of time
And people giving you directions! Which were of course often misleading if not flat out wrong...
Or cryptic. “Turn left in the small street near the little green building”
There were yahoo maps too. Also car rentals had Magellan gps's. Before that ppl had to use map books and asking directions at gas stations
Do you know Vasco da Gama?
If everyone was supposed to be Vasco da Gama back then, why do we only have a handful of countries?
Printing off Mapquest. Keeping a map in the glovebox. It sucked.
You find the letter and number squares by street, then get lost anyway. Stop at filling station, get proper directions (left at old barn, right at house that burned down.)
My brother’s old house was a left at the Friendly’s.
