I absolutely hate any kind of chores or repetitive stuff. This includes mundane tasks like putting dishes in the dishwasher: it’s not straightforward since we have a small dishwasher but always tons of dishes due to kids. The knapsack packing effort is quite draining. Even watching /listening to YouTube at the same time doesn’t make it something I look forward to every day. Other things like wiping the dining table also don’t feel necessary despite spouse protest. How can I better automate such tasks or at least sweeten them to not feel the pain? We already bought a top grade mopping/sweeping robot and it really solved a big problem. But I am looking for the next level of chore reduction, life automation. Thanks.
Get a bigger dishwasher. If you kids are old enough, delegate chores. Hire a cleaner.
Daily cleaner to just put dishes in the washer seems luxurious
JD needs to hire better.
We have a maid come by once a week for the deeper cleaning stuff so we don’t even think about doing those things anymore. For the kid, we just have them eat at school. Can give them some snacks but I’m not packing a full lunch every single day when I can just pay.
Good ideas. Unfortunately our kids have special dietary restrictions. Also school food has very low quality. We also have once a week maid service but apparently not nearly enough
Kids will be fine eating school food a couple times a week. At least it will help cut down packing lunch to every other day. And kids eat at home at night and weekends. As long as it’s not just processed meat every day, they’re going to be fine. Our school serves lightly buttered penne noodles for non meat options sometimes, and while it’s not the most nutritious on its own, they serve with milk and a bag of baby carrots. They’ll get full nutrition at home and on weekends
We folded and agreed to pay a cleaner every month and also got a vacuum robot that has helped. We also made a rule that whoever cooks doesn’t clean the dishes which helps even the burden. Curious: which robot mop did you get? I was wondering if they work well enough to invest in one.
Ones from China called Shi tou
Life is made up of primarily mundane moment. If you can’t make peace with washing the dishes, you’re in for a life of suffering
Get a wife.
Just delegate those issues to your butler
Use your imagination. I love mundane repetitive tasks. Have a couple-three drinks, listen to some music/podcasts/audiobooks... I've told my family that I'm happy to do all of this tedious shit by myself as long as it is considered "me time" and they keep interruptions to a minimum.
What’s up with the stock?
Have you tried putting the dishes in the dishwasher when they get dirty
I can’t put the dirty dishes in cause the dishwasher is full with clean dishes. Can I automate taking the clean dishes out?
