I’ve been keeping an eye on Jane Street’s job posting site for awhile now. They previously had “UI Engineer” listed, but I wasn’t quite ready to apply — that listing had since disappeared. I actually messaged a few JS recruiters on LinkedIn in asking about the listing but never got any responses. I refuse to take the hint if that’s what it is 😎 Anyway, a few days ago I noticed a new “Front End Engineer” listing on their site and applied immediately. I’m curious if applying on their site is a dead end / how I can maximize my chances of being contacted for a screening? Want to give it a go even if I get smoked by it. As someone with a non-traditional background, I’m also curious how much education/ target schools play into recruiting at JS. Seems like prestigious education on your resume could be a big thing there? TC: 255k
They don't hire many FE engineers. You're chances are very low. Still, maybe worth a shot. You'll most likely work in OCaml as well.
It you apply on the website you’ll get a response for sure. Doubt you’ll get better odds from different avenues of applying(other than a referral)
Agree
do you all know how much TC JS pays for a senior frontend role?
I recently got directly reached out by a headhunter for this exact role. If you dm me I can forward you their LinkedIn and you can try connecting with them.

Headhunters are a common way to get a foot in the door at most HFTs from what I’ve seen
