Meta has this seemingly never ending performance review season. It lasts for multiple months and drives people's anxiety through the roof. We've always done it every 6 months but starting 2022, we will do it annually. Either way, it is a daunting and excruciating process. It feels unhealthy. Msft does an annual thing to give out 🥜. Managers get together starting end of May - early June and start talking about who should be slotted where on the rewards scale. Those numbers trickle up the chain thru June and July and get adjusted for budget by late July early August. 🥜 Are distributed to us on our September 15th pay check.
The rating shouldn’t be a surprise, so no need to be anxious. If you are on the border of two ratings then there is nothing much you can do, other than wait.
Amazon: Compares what work you can show metrics on against their leadership principle. Also compares what ur team members feedback says about you. This breaks down to “if you can’t measure it, it doesn’t count”, and “give everyone else shit feedback so u look better” Indeed: measures a few key performances, the main one being impact. You basically just need to be able to make a solid argument about why ur work was impactful. Very easy to get a good review as long as ur looking for ways to make things better and further their OKRs
We have no performance review. You have to be able to do your job though or you can be let go anytime.
Uh write a half decentt paragraph (20ish lines) and click submit in Workday around the Nov / Dec timeframe and then one 30 min meeting to present it in Jan
