I see so many people having offers from FB, Google, Lyft, Netflix, etc. I got into Amazon through internship so never really had to work too hard for finding a job. For Amazon, I know we have hard interviews but our criteria is pretty lax so it's easy to score an offer at Amazon. How do people manage jobs at these companies so easily? When I tried last year I got rejected at most companies at the phone interview level. How do so many people persevere through the tough interview processes? TC 210k
Luck plays a big role when it comes to interviews
Your luck gets better the more you practice 😉

It's not easy.. You are missing the many months of preparation and hardwork.
They don't get it so easily. You just see success, not the months / years of effort
I prepared for almost 9 months (my regular job was quite demanding too). I used to wake up at 4:00 am to study and Leetcode. I am not very smart but definitely hard working. I couldn't crack LinkedIn but recently got an offer from FB and couple of startups. And I am 30+.
Wow. Inspirational. Hope many lc did you do?
Thanks. Around 300+. But it's about recognizing patterns. The weekly contests and mock interviews are very helpful.
I prepared for around 4-5 months, leetcoding on weekends, doing courses to get more grasp of system design, reading blogs of tech companies and everything. Has offer from Amazon, msft, FB. Still a bad day can ruin it all. Like it did for me in case of google
Yup I had a bad night of sleep and came in frazzled for my FB. Felt so stupid for not taking something the night before
And you joined MS? Why not FB?
I prepped for 45 days and got FB, Google, Apple and Microsoft and Lyft
How many lc problems did you do ? What was the difficulty level of coding questions at these companies?
Around 350. 40% easy, 40% mediums and 20% hards.
It's all luck. "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity" Preparation = leetcode, practice, reading, etc. Opportunity = interviewer asks a question/topic you practiced/learnt. Sometimes it just doesn't work out in your favor. Good luck!
To add on that, sometimes you have to interview at the same company a few times until luck happens :)
The "oh so easy" feel that you get when people update their new job status. All those posts have an average of 4 months of consistent hard work behind them. You spend 4 months prepping + applying, you will also get through. Not easy, but not difficult either. Just consistency, and patience.
It was mad easy for me I just bought a whiteboard, a notebook, and then practiced problems for 4 months straight, doing them while out eating / at the bar, at home, and during lunch at work via code wars. I also watched hours of videos about what to expect during the interview and how to properly ask questions and walk through my thinking. It was a breeze.
Which videos in particular helped you?
It doesn't sound easy, it sounds like you worked really hard. Don't discount your worth, man. You earned it
