How do product & engineering people really feel about designer's discovery work?

Design sprints are a tool and like all tools, it depends how it's used. If the team agrees on the problem to solve but doesn't know how, it can be a great way to brainstorm. If everyone already has a solid idea, then its just design theater. Strong alignment beforehand is what makes or brakes exercises like this.
