How do you exhibit seniority during interviews?

How do you portray yourself in such way that would convince HR, Hiring Manager that you should be senior. Is down-leveling common these days? Or is it just me? TC - 140K YOE - 5 Down-leveled by Amazon to L4 Any tips would be appreciated.

Amazon likes to interview higher and downlevel (including from personal experience). However, 5 yoe to l4 seems extreme

I would prefer getting a reject rather than getting down-leveled

Tech firms usually downlevel ppl coming from non tech since the experience is not 100% transferable. Trust me i came from finance too. 6yoe got L3 at g

Throw in a lot of metrics to emphasize your impact, like how much revenue your work has generated for the company $$$, how many people/teams you have driven & managed ###, how many users benefited from your work ###, how huge your work scope is “bigly big”, etc.

You are like “fake it till you make it”

if you do have these metrics it’s not faking....

Only by articulating your thoughts and by guessing what interviewer is looking for. Its not impossible but very hard for 5 yoe if you haven't mentored, or interacted with multiple teams, managed project/component with full responsibility. so own more projects, take initiatives, resolve conflicts, make workplace more amicable (hoping that its not already which gives you an opportunity)
