How do you get a job at a hedge fund

I feel like that's an industry that still likes to see pedigree. But LinkedIn shows some people going from mediocre shops and working their way up.

Same as any other industry, there’s no magic hedge fund secret sauce going on. Like you said, network and apply.

the most desirable jobs are the senior quant and PM positions but typically you need to work up from entry-level trader or junior quant roles lots of people jump from IB after 2-3 year to the aforementioned entry-level roles at hedge funds
