How do you invest you TC in Singapore? - Here the savings interest rates are damn low. - Cannot contribute to CPF since not a citizen. Been thinking of investing in stock market. Suggestions? And expected returns? Which stock market did you invest in, US, Singapore, or other? I think there is some tax benefit for investing in Singapore market. PS: I am from India. Should I transfer the money to Indian banks that offer much higher interest rate? #personalfinance #investments #singapore #shopee #grab #bytedance #tax
Look at high cap growth index funds like Vanguard. If you want some protection against volatile market, then look at funds which consists of government bonds.
Stock market, there is no tax on gains from stocks / financial instruments (dividend included)
Even for non-singapore stocks?
Yep, you won't be taxed by singapore but you may by the origin country, e.g. if you get US stocks you'll have a 30% withholding tax on their dividends (so it's better to aim funds based in Ireland for the 15% tax tready on US stocks dividend)
